Alberco Construction Ltd. is the successor firm to Harsim Construction Ltd., which was actively involved in construction from 1962. During the early years, the company focused on architectural, commercial, and institutional construction projects. The company was owned and operated by Gus Simonsmeier and eight employee shareholders.
Alberco Construction Ltd. was incorporated when Ron Simonsmeier, P. Eng., joined the firm in 1978. The company relocated to a larger office and warehouse facility in St. Albert, and developed a new, three-acre equipment and storage yard at the St. Albert Airport.
Engineering projects, such as reservoirs, lift stations, parkades, highrise concrete structures, grade separations and bridges, were added to the scope of operations.
In 1988, Bruce Moisey joined the firm and brought eight years of bridge experience from Alberta Transportation to the company.
Today the primary focus of Alberco Construction Ltd. is bridge and overpass construction and rehabilitation. Over the last 15 years, Alberco Construction Ltd. has worked on over 200 bridge and overpass projects, large and small.
Through the diversity of successfully completed projects, the office staff and field forces have gained valuable experience in virtually all phases and forms of construction technology and project management.
The main objective of the company has been, and continues to be, the provision of quality service and workmanship, with a commitment to safety, through controlled growth and stability.
